About this Offer

Departing your choice of airport you will stay 4 night stay in the capital Reykjavik. You’ll stay in a 3* hotel with en-suite facilities convenient to all the attractions this wonderful city has to offer and a local Icelandic Breakfast is included each morning.

The first morning we’ll take a tour combines the widely popular Golden Circle tour with the adventure of a lifetime - a one hour snowmobile ride on Langjökull glacier, Iceland's second largest glacier.

First we stop at Þingvellir National Park which is known for its exceptional beauty and historical importance. Þingvellir is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. The second stop is at the high-temperature geothermal area known as Geysir, with its numerous spouting hot springs. From there we drive to Langjökull where we take a one hour exhilarating snowmobile tour on the vast white snowcap. On our way back to Reykjavík we stop by the stunning Gullfoss waterfall.

Part two we will take you on a glacier hike which is a great way to experience Icelandic nature. On this tour, you will walk on Sólheimajökull glacier tongue, which extends from Mýrdalsjökull. We will take an easy 2-2.5 hour walk on crampons up on the ice field, where we will learn more about the wonderland of ice sculptures, ridges, deep crevasses and why the glaciers are melting and disappearing.

We will provide and teach you how to use basic glacier equipment for this tour. On the way back to Reykjavík, after the exhilarating glacier hike, we will stop at the two beautiful waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss.

Seljalandsfoss is part of the Seljandsá river, which has its origins in Eyjafjallajökull glacier. What makes this waterfall so famous and interesting is that you can walk behind it. We recommend you bring either a raincoat or a waterproof coat along if you want to walk behind it. Skógafoss, another famous Icelandic waterfall, is the starting point of the Fimmvörðuháls walk over to Þórsmörk. The waterfall was also used in the films Thor: The Dark World and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.

For part 3 we’ll visit the unique and remote man-made ice cave in Langjökull, one of Iceland's largest and most spectacular glaciers. You begin the tour by bus and drive to the lush Húsafell area with stops at Europe's most powerful hot spring Deildartunguhver and the beautiful Hraunfossar lava waterfalls. After a lunch break in Húsafell, we head on up to Langjökull, partly in a specially modified glacier vehicle. It will take us almost to the top of the glacier, where we enter the magnificent cave.

Seeing the glacier from the inside is a unique experience. The caverns are composed of an extensive system of tunnels and chambers that stretch close to 300 metres into the solid ice cap towards a breathtaking natural Ice Cave at the heart of the glacier

Making your way inside the glacier, you’ll be able to explore various nooks and chambers and walk over a huge ice crevasse on a specially constructed bridge. In every chamber, you will find information about the glacier on display and you’ll get to witness the blue ice at the heart of the glacier.

If you would like the tour based on a particular hotel we offer a wide range in our hotels section and we are of course happy to quote on any of these.

Transfers are not included in the price as some people prefer to hire a car or take a private transfer which we can arrange but the best way from the airport to your hotel in our opinion is the Flybus transfer from Keflavik airport to your hotel and back for just £39pp return.

Our prices are based on the cheapest departure date in any given month from the departure airport as stated and prices are subject to change according to availability.

Flights are available from London Gatwick, Heathrow, Luton, Stansted, London City, Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh & Belfast
